Successfully Aiding in the Success of Children
When infants are first diagnosed with hearing loss, there can be a lengthy wait for the child’s hearing aids to be approved, for parents to find funding for these hearings aids, and the time it takes for the hearing aids to arrive from the manufacturer. Having the Hearing Aid Loaner Bank there to assist families with hearing aids during this time helps to give children access to sound while they wait for their personal hearing aids.
This poster will detail the success of the TN Hearing Aid Loaner bank and how other states can use their Hearing Aid Loaner banks to improve their LTF data in their state. Since our Loaner Bank has been established, we have helped fit children who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing with hearing aids across the state. We will elaborate on the tremendous positive impact the Loaner Bank has had on families across the state. We will also discuss how TN maintains the Loaner Bank through collaborative efforts with other organizations in TN.

Special schools audiologist at Tennessee School for the Deaf since 2000 and also sees children for newborn hearing screening/follow-up, early intervention and is an ECHO hearing screening trainer. Previously, Crista worked with the University of Memphis School of Communication Sciences and Disorders.

Kodi is a parent of three children who have Auditory Neuropathy. She became involved with the TN Hands & Voices chapter in 2011 at it's inception. Kodi became the director of TN Hands & Voices in 2013.
