PA Regional Round Tables During the COVID Pandemic

PA conducted five regional round tables from October 2020 - February 2021 to address barriers presented by the pandemic, identify potential break points in the EHDI systems in each region, and discuss ways to strengthen EHDI. The round tables were hosted over Zoom and open to the public. Each round table included presenters from key fields within the region, including audiologists, early interventionists, deaf educators, and parents of deaf and hard of hearing children. The round tables had excellent attendance and truly served as relationship and system builders in each of the regions. The EHDI program received incredibly positive feedback from parents and professionals discussing the informational and educational value of the presentations. The structure and format of the round tables proved to be very valuable, and based on their success PA is now planning to host similar events in future years to continue to build and encourage our EHDI system throughout the state. In a presentation to the EHDI annual meeting, our team will discuss the structure and methodology that went into creating the round table events and why we believe it was able to both reach and impact a large and diverse audience.

  • Confronting and Overcoming COVID Barriers
  • Strengthening Regional EHDI Connections
  • Increasing EHDI System Awareness
