Abstract Information:
Title: Achieving 'Best Practices' in Early Intervention
Primary Track: 3-Early Intervention
Keyword(s): early intervention, service provision, best practices

Abstract:

Considerable variability exists among states in terms of how Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) Programs and Part C-Early Intervention services are coordinated. Differences exist in the roles of lead agencies, the timing of service delivery, the frequency and intensity of services, roles of service providers, and in the training, background, and experience of early interventionists and related service providers. This presentation will discuss the results of a study that analyzed how 10 states address these issues and a set of best practice policies and procedures will be proposed.
