Abstract Information:
Title: Improving EHDI Outcomes: Creating a Roadmap for Success
Primary Track: 3-Early Intervention
Keyword(s): collaboration, strategic planning, improvement outcomes

Abstract:

While it is widely understood that the goal of EHDI is to maximize linguistic and communicative competence and literacy development for children who are hard of hearing or deaf, achieving the goal of improving EHDI process outcomes, particularly focused on the critical issue of loss to follow-up, requires intentional collaboration among public agencies/programs who often see problem-solving as an insular task. This session is designed to provide participants with information and strategies to support their ability to design and facilitate a collaborative effort, using a strategic planning process to ensure long-term systemic improvements as the outcome.
