Abstract:

When professionals lead early intervention teams, they often do so somewhat shackled by legal, agency, policy, and funding constraints. However, when parents take leadership of their child's early intervention, they are free to think outside the box of these limitations and ask "what if?" In this example case, learn about one family who took the bull by the horns and pieced together a team of service providers that could collaboratively accomplish as a collective whole what no one agency could have done on its own. That being an array of services that supported a family and ultimately a child who continues to surpass many developmental milestones.
