Abstract: |
Informational and adjustment counseling to families of infants and young children with hearing loss is one of the most challenging responsibilities for audiologists working in the EHDI system. Recently, the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association released “Guidelines for Audiologists Providing Informational and Adjustment Counseling to Families of Infants and Young Children With Hearing Loss Birth to 5 Years of Age.” This presentation will highlight some of the concepts from those guidelines along with several scenarios to illustrate ways one should (and should not) approach this difficult issue. |
