A critical component of Early Intervention is the presentation of language opportunities. The purpose of this presentation is to give parents and professionals, whose first language is not ASL, a unique opportunity to Jump Start their way into ASL or build upon their current knowledge base of visual language. The goal of this presentation is not only to introduce participants to basic and essential ASL signs and skills, but to cover tips for parents and professionals, language milestones, Deaf culture and community information, and introduce steps in networking with Deaf professionals, mentors, organizations, and other parents.
