Abstract: |
Cued Speech as a mode of communication will be described through the experiences, case study and story of a family with a prelingually deaf son. This session focuses on Cued Speech as it applies to integrating the deaf child into the family.
What were their experiences in deaf education, early intervention, preschool, mainstreaming? How did the parents decide to use Cued Speech? What was their path? Current research studies that support the family experience will be discussed as well as a description of how Cued Speech works. |
