ABSTRACT INFORMATION
Title: 'TeleAudiology: A Key to Early Identification of Hearing Loss in Rural Communities' Track: 2 - Audiological Services Keyword(s): Telemedicine, audiology, outreach, improvement Learning Objectives: Participants will be able to identify the value of utilizing TeleAudiology to reduce loss to follow-up in rural settings. Participants will be able to identify scheduling, equipment and staffing needs to successfully establish a TeleAudiology practice. Abstract: To reduce loss to follow-up rates in rural northern Wisconsin, Wisconsin Sound Beginnings partnered with Marshfield Clinic developing a TeleAudiology program for the evaluation of babies who refer on the newborn hearing screen. Utilization of TeleAudiology allows families to access specialized care in their local communities significantly saving time & resources while improving loss to follow-up. Outcome data of the 15 month pilot project and case studies will be presented along with a videotaped demonstration. Public policy intiatives including reimbursement will be addressed. Cindy See - Primary Presenter Marshfield Clinic      Credentials: Au.D.       Cynthia See is an audiologist at Marshfield Clinic with a special interest in pediatrics. In collaboration with Wisconsin Sound Beginnings, Dr. See is on a team to improve early hearing detection and intervention in Central and Northern Wisconsin.
