Recruit, Engage, and Retain Leaders
An organization or workplace is only as good as the leaders/employees involved. This session will explore the keys to finding the 'right' leaders/employees, engaging them in the mission and work, and ultimately keeping them so that there isn't the constant challenge of leader/employee turnover. Hands & Voices has experienced both turnover and many leaders who have been a part of the organization for a long time. What is the reason for the turnover and what is the secret to successful retention of leaders? This session will offer an interactive opportunity to identify and explore common challenges, share wisdom, receive information from a survey, and share resources that would ultimately impact an organizations ability to engage and retain quality leaders/employees.
- Participant will be able to identify key strategies in recruiting the right leader/employee from the beginning.
- Participant will be able list recruitment, engagement, and retention resources provided by the presenter.
- Participant will be able to identify key elements of Hands & Voices success in retaining leadership from survey information provided by the presenter.

Lisa Kovacs

Lisa lives in Indiana with her husband Brian and four children. Her son has severe hearing loss and Auditory Neuropathy.
Lisa is the Director of Programs for Hands & Voices HQ, founding board member of IN Hands & Voices, and she’s been with Hands & Voices since 2004. She serves on the AAP EHDI Task Force, co-chair of the Indiana Department of Education Special Education Advisory Council, and board member of Coalition for Global Hearing Health.
Lisa has extensive training and experience in special education advocacy. She is passionate about training other parents to recognize their strengths and abilities so they feel confident to make educated decisions and advocate for their children. Most importantly, Lisa hopes that through training parents, there will ultimately be more children who can advocate for themselves.
Lisa enjoys reading, running, watching her children participate in sporting events, and spending time with her family.
