2016 EHDI Annual Meeting Field Trip Opportunities

The 2016 EHDI Annual Meeting Planning Committee would like to make you aware of and invite you to participate in one of two different field trip opportunities while you are in San Diego attending the EHDI Meeting. Both field trips are scheduled for Wednesday, March 16, 2016. For information on the tours and how to register for them, please see below.

Cost to attend a field trip: $40 (Meals are NOT included.)

Field Trip Option 1: Tour of San Diego Unified School District Deaf and Hard of Hearing Programs

Jeanne Cicchetto, San Diego Unified School district, would like to welcome you to visit four schools that provide programs and services for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.

This field trip will allow for a maximum of 9-15 participants.

The schedule for the tour on Wednesday, March 16, would be as follows:

Field Trip Option 2: Tour of Research Labs that focus on Language of Deaf Children

Four of the country (and world)'s top research labs when it comes to researching Deaf people's language usage and development are located in San Diego! Here's an opportunity to visit two of them in one shot! Buses will leave the hotel at 8:45 a.m. for the first lab located at San Diego State University- the Lab for Language and Cognitive Neuroscience (LLCN) for a tour and presentation on their latest research updates. We will then travel to the Mayberry Lab for Multimodal Language Development at the University of California in San Diego for a tour and presentation before returning to the hotel before 12:30 p.m.

This field trip will allow for a maximum of 40 participants.
