Multimedia for DV trauma treatment in children

TFCBT and EMDR are the two recommended treatments for trauma including children suffering from domestic violence. In this session, both TFCBT and EMDR will be quickly introduced, however, the focus will be on using multimedia techniques and tools for sessions. These include reviewing children's literature and how to use narrative techniques and puppet play with children; hands on art projects for children and teenagers to address trauma, and helpful handouts and coping cards created by the speaker to reinforce learning and coping in the home and school environment.

  • Introduction to TFCBT friendly books for children
  • Hands on art experience for TFCBT and EMDR trauma treatment
  • Review handouts and treatment planning to supplement trauma treatment
