Family Support Programs
The early years of infancy and preschool development are critical – and they are the beginning of a long and fruitful journey for families raising children who are deaf and hard of hearing. The Alexander Graham Bell Association has a variety of programs that support families and children who are deaf or hard of hearing to stay informed and involved. This session will highlight those programs, especially the Listening and Spoken Language Knowledge Center, a web based center for gaining accurate information about listening and spoken language. Families and EHDI professionals alike will find stories, resources, language development strategies, parent advocacy training and other ideas to support them as they strive to enrich the lives of infants and children who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Locate online resources provided by the Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. Describe at least three AG Bell resources available to families whose children are between the ages of birth to three years. Describe the general application requirements for families seeking financial aid or scholarships from AG Bell.

Judy Harrison is the Interim Executive Director for the Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. She is an experienced teacher of the deaf and early interventionist specializing with cochlear implants. She currently represents AG Bell on the Joint Committee on Infant Hearing.

Kathleen is the principal of HIP Special Services in Bergen County, NJ, a public school program serving students who are deaf or hard of hearing. She is an experienced teacher of the deaf and school administrator working with children and families from birth through high school. Kathleen is currently the President of the Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
