Tauya Paxton

As a member of the Utah EHDI Committee, Taunya has offered a variety of benefits to the committee and to parents of newly diagnosed DHH infants in Utah. She has contributed to several national and local EHDI initiatives, such as serving as a reviewer of state EHDI program websites for national EHDI awards, working with other state EHDI program parent representatives to identify areas of improvement, facilitating pamphlets across multiple languages, and developing a state post-diagnosis information booklet for parents. She has participated in multiple workshops aimed to improve the quality of, and access to, care. She has attended the national EHDI conference several times, many times at her own expense, always bringing back notes to help her in her role on the state advisory committee. It was directly from her participation at a national EHDI conference that the Utah EHDI WebinEARS were created. These 30-minute webinars are held live via Facebook (and recorded for viewing later) for parents and providers on a variety of topics involving infants and children that are DHH.
