Language Acquisition and Brain Development of Children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing

Drs. Hauser and Singleton will help the audience become better acquainted with the factors that lead to deaf and hard of hearing children's success an area of interest to all EHDI stakeholders. They will share the most recent research on how deaf and hard of hearing children learn and how to maximize their cognitive and language development. Their focus will be on how deaf and hard of hearing children regulate their attention for learning and language acquisition and how EHDI providers can promote these skills. Drs. Hauser and Singleton are research directors at the National Science Foundation's Science of Learning Center on Visual Language and Visual Learning.
