Carrie Balian
Carrie became involved in the Illinois EDHI system when her experience as a mother to Jack and navigating the EHDI system. Carrie is a graduate of the Leadership-to-Leadership program through the National Hands & Voices. She has shared her knowledge through multiple presentations at national and state conferences including: EHDI, the HV Leadership, the Illinois Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Individuals and the Bridges for Interventionists. Carrie's work with EHDI began with her experience as the mother of Jack, born in 2000. As Jack progressed, so did her involvement in improving EHDI systems for all families. Due to her natural compassion for others she started as a parent liaison for Early Intervention.
